in 2008, ten friends who were dissatisfied with the brand offerings available to Kiwi flooring customers,banded together to establish Flooring Xtra. Each with expertise in the flooring industry, they built their business on the belief that community-based organisations were more effective than corporations. They obviously had something right, because within three years Flooring Xtra was New Zealand’s largest flooring retailer, offering an extensive range of products and installation services. While today they might be the country’s second biggest flooring retailer, their goal has moved to focus on being ‘the best’.
